Chris Flores, a director with the Windows Client communications team, has confirmed that Microsoft is working on the next major version of Windows, called Windows 7. Flores added,
“We are well into the development process of Windows 7, and we’re happy to report that we’re still on track to ship approximately three years after the general availability of Windows Vista.”
Microsoft released Vista to business community in November 2006 and to consumers the following January.
